Benefits of Online Learning for Disabled Students
Online learning for students with disabilities to me hasn't been supported enough for instructors to be more prepared for students with learning disabilities. Instructors do not have the ability to change the course design to accommodate these students. I think online education for students with disabilities can be beneficial starting with transportation because online classes can be taking in the convenience of their own home. Students with disabilities can continue their education in the preference of their own home to serve them well without spending the money for transportation. Online education can also benefits disable students to learn and provide lifetime learning through the use of technology. Using technology everyday can influence these students to help keep their skills up and be the best candidates for job placement. This can also decrease the unemployment rate dealing with disable people. Online learning allows students with disabilities to work from home or for a company in telecommunications and/or remote work to build their confidence in the work force. Online can also promote flexibility where students with disabilities can work at their own pace and not have to stress the struggles with time scheduling.

Digital Citizenship
Digital
Citizenship
The article about Digital Citizenship was really interesting. Not only does digital Citizenship prepare students how to use the technology appropriately, it also teaches our students and technology users how to be prepared for a society that is full of technological devices. The benefits of Digital Citizenship when dealing with social media can help connect with friends and family, quick access of communication by sharing your ideas with others, brings people together who may have the same interest, advertise your company or a friends and can also share your information for other to learn from. The benefits of Digital Citizenship are endless. The downfall of Digital Citizenship can increase Cyber-bullying and can also be a distraction for what is important. Rumors can spread rapidly using Digital Citizenship and people can pretend to be someone else. I don’t think people should trust all the information they read in social media because we have people who perform fraudulent acts on the computer. We have our ups and downs about Digital Citizenship, it is just the way we as people use it.

Wireless Power Using Microwaves
We can see we as people are running out of power outlets to use because of all the technology devices we have. When we attend meeting or going to school the outlets are in an inconvenient place, very hard to locate or someone is using them. Having Wireless power is already being introduced to many companies to try to make power for charging batteries in devices readily available. The Powermat is a mat created for many devices to be charged at one time, but this too can get over loaded. The new thing is for technology to be built into desk and/or countertops for power transfer and other wireless devices just by place your device on some type of furniture. I can imagine the cost of this. I found this video on youtube about Wireless Power and how the Japanese people are trying to use a new energy source for mankind in which they found electric power wirelessly to a pinpoint target using microwaves needed for solar power. We all have those. I think this is brilliant idea.

Virtual and Remote Laboratories
Benefits of having Virtual and Remote Laboratories
1. Connect people all around the world to achieve a common goal
2. Remote Labs help expand on work and enhancing skills to help with real life situations
3. Universities benefit from having people join classes online form all around the world
4. Deals all around the world can be made through virtual remote labs
Bring Your Own Device - (BYOD)
Bring your own device can benefit people in the work place.
People are able to access information at any time and have the freedom to
complete their work through their own personal device. BYOD promotes
flexibility for employees to effectively manage workflow productivity
throughout the entire business. This also a great way for college students to
be able to complete there course online and complete their assignments to earn
their degree. Reading the Horizontal Report article seems to me that
institutions were able to reduce the overall spending for technology do to
student bring their own device to school. This saves the colleges money to use
for other things.
When student are able to bring their own device they are
able to improve on their digital literacy skills. Using their own device will
help students navigate and learn how to read/write by understanding the
information in the digital tools. Students always want to learn using a
technology device and this will keep help them complete their research or
assignment using the Internet for the purpose of education. This is opportunity
for students to not only use their devices for social networking but to enhance
their knowledge in school.

Constructivism Learning Building Students Confident
The most interesting idea I have encountered in reading Goodman’s text is learning more about the use of the learning theory called Constructivism. Constructivism is a learning theory, which is based on new knowledge learned to build on top of students existing knowledge. Students will benefit from using existing knowledge to help establish the foundation for new knowledge to be learned. All students can and will benefit from Constructivism learning especially if teachers get to know their students and how to integrate what they know about their students into their teaching. By approaching this process; teachers can use Constructivist learning to build on students knowledge to motivate them so they can feel more confident in learning. Teachers have to understand when using Constructivist learning there are different ways student learn. Each student may not have the same amount of knowledge but we as Educators can build on what they already know. My idea about constructivist learning helps all students not feel out of place and are treated equally because teachers are building on what is already learned from each student and how to enhance their prior knowledge. This is away for students to move on to the next level on what they already know. Constructivism also elaborates more on peer-to-peer learning to create social development skills and collaboration in-group assignments. When students feel comfortable to learn they tend to concentrate and think more about the instruction being taught. Constructivism gives students possession on what they are learning and the creativity to develop their own appreciation of knowledge in different ways. While this process is being done students are more likely to remember the information and apply it to real life situations.
Week 10 - Cyberbullying and Digital Responsibility
Internet
Safety and Cyberbullying
Social Networking has really affected the
lives of our youth because of the negative actions they choose to do while
being on social networking sites. Social Networking has become the way most
adolescents socialize amongst each other. These teenagers are so addicted to
the different social networking site that it seems to control them in a
negative manner. Majority of all teenagers are on some form of social media
through their technology devices which increase the chance of a child being
cyberbullied. Cyberbullying is a threat to all people because they can
anonymously post negative things about people without getting into trouble.
Cyberbullying increases harassments and threats to embarrass a person
character. The use of inappropriate pictures are uploaded on social networking
sites for many people to view this type of embarrassment, which can lead to
depression and suicidal thoughts. Adolescents seems to post everything that is
going on in their lives on a social networking site because they feel this is
the coolest thing to do. We hear of so many cases where students kill
themselves do to being bullied on the computer. One benefit of having social
networking sites would be to stay in contact with family members and friends all
around the world. The internet is very helpful when needed for something very
important. People have to be careful about the information they type inside the
computer because this information can be used against you. Taking these steps
will help decrease cyber bullying for our safety.
Digital
Responsibility
The use of technology had
definitely increase in our educational world. Although technology is not the
savior in our students education but is a tremendous help for our students to
stay engaged while learning the curriculum. Technology helps increase the
collaboration amongst student in their classroom setting, which this technique
can be transformed in their own communities. Digital technology helps promote
critical thinking and problem solving techniques, which is helpful for students
to become entrepreneurs in the future. Using different technology web tools can
help students create, evaluate, analyze, understand and apply the skills needed
to enhance the ability of learning new information inside the classrooms. In
this article students need to know all the positive things they can do with
their technology device. Students need to understand they can do so much more
by being creative to enhance the use of their device. Students are so unaware of
the resources they have to make their learning experience more exciting because
of the technology they have. Today’s adolescents are so use to using their
technology devices for negative things and are unaware of all the positive
things they can use their digital device for.
We as educators can show them other ways to use their devices to help
them with school. These students have so much more technology resources to use
for their education then I had and I just feel they don’t use their devices to benefit
their selves.

Modern Teaching with Technology inside the Classroom
Modern
Teaching with Technology inside the classroom
Students
are the most important part to actively learn inside the classroom with the
guidance of the teacher. Teachers are more facilitators inside the classroom
than lecturing because the 21st century classroom seems to be more
productive in adding in technology to enhance the curriculum. Using
technology can help the advancement of students in their higher order thinking
skills and help with their communication skills with their peers. Using
technology in the curriculum can collaboratively help students adept with the
use of technology and other skills learned would help them in their future
workplace. We as teachers can create an atmosphere for students to stay focus
and learn their different learning styles with the use of technology
incorporated. Majority of all school have access to computers and the use of SMART
Boards inside the classroom, which replaces the use of always using paper with
pens. Using computers help students handle online research for school
assignments and by researching, using technology enhances student’s skills
learning how to manage the device they are on. Learning how to use a computer
is a major part of learning in the 21st Century. Using modern
teaching with technology inside the classroom helps keep the interest in
learning and students are able to memorize the knowledge they have
learned. Some teachers do not like using
technology inside the classroom they would prefer to just lecture and have
students answer questions from a book but I feel technology plays an important
role in the development of our modern day classrooms. When we as Educators
improve the learning experiences inside the classroom this process help make
students prepare for their college and career experiences, which make their
learning experiences exciting to learn.
We have many websites on how to incorporate technology inside every
teacher’s curriculum. These tips and tools will help us, as educators
understand how to integrate technology into everyday instructions in a creative
and in a better-organized way. Incorporating technology into classroom
curriculum can help students actively engage and participate with out getting
uninterested. Students will give feedback and it helps them connect their classroom
experiences with the real world experiences. Technology has to be a routine
throughout the learning process, which has to support whatever curriculum being
taught. While students are learning with the use of technology this can
challenge their critical thinking skills, which opens their eyes for real world
situations. As teachers we have to analyze how our students are going to be
able to handle themselves once they leave the classroom setting and have to
prove themselves in a career setting; we are setting them up to be comfortable
with the use of technology. Technology is the way the world is communicating
now and we all have to be on board with it. Modern teaching has its benefits
for our students to be the best at what they can be.
Week 9 Blog - Using Digital Storytelling Inside the Classroom
Digital Storytelling inside the classroom setting is being used more in our educational system. Digital Storytelling can be used for student to express themselves by telling their own story. Students can also pick and choose their characters and create a story to express themselves about the reading/text that was taught inside the classroom. Students are able to see what other stories were created by their peers and they can how collaborate about each story they have watched. This technology tool can be a project used to edit stories and try to create what they are reading about in class. This technology tool can be used in all academic areas for participation since it is for hands on learning. Students are able to show their imagination and code the wording they would like for their digital story to say. Students are excited to learn new things and by creating their own digital storytelling story they will be able learn to express themselves by gather information and turning this information into a cartoon that they have created.
